Welcome to Bridging the Gap 2026
Bridging the Gap: Connection, Perspective and Change brings together leading voices across family law, mediation, psychology, research and lived experience for a two-day international gathering at the Montcalm Mayfair, a prestigious, design-led venue in the heart of Mayfair.
Building on the energy, insight and connections created earlier this year, this next conference takes the conversation further. It creates space not only to explore how systems currently respond to family conflict, but to look more closely at what is driving that conflict in the first place and how those responses might evolve when that is better understood.
This is not simply a conference, it's a deliberately created environment where professionals step out of silos, challenge assumptions and come together to consider how families can be better supported through conflict, separation and change.
It's also a space where conversations continue beyond the sessions, where perspectives are tested and reshaped and where connections are formed that extend well beyond the two days.
Across the programme, insight, experience and innovation sit alongside something equally important: the opportunity to pause, reflect and engage more deeply with the work, the systems we operate within and the people in the room.
Family conflict does not begin at the point it reaches court and it rarely sits neatly within one professional framework. It reflects experiences, pressures and patterns that have often been developing long before systems become involved. Beneath the disputes sit layers of fear, loss, identity, protection and misunderstanding that shape behaviour, influence decision making and impact how professionals interpret what is happening.
When responses focus only on what is immediately visible, there is a risk that situations are managed rather than understood and that the underlying patterns driving conflict remain unchanged.
Bridging the Gap exists to bring these perspectives together, to understand it more fully and to explore what becomes possible when we begin to look beyond the dispute and into what sits beneath it.
This is an opportunity to step into a different kind of conversation, one that challenges assumptions, connects disciplines and creates space for new thinking to emerge.
The people behind it
Bridging the Gap was created from a shared belief that when professionals across systems and jurisdictions come together with openness and intention, meaningful change becomes possible.
Katy Harris, UK family mediator, trainer and founder of Mediation Matters Midlands and The London Mediation Company, brings a focus on early intervention, child-inclusive practice and trauma-informed approaches.
Tracy Ann Moore-Grant, US family lawyer, mediator and founder of the Amicable Divorce Network, leads a global community committed to resolving family matters outside of court with dignity and clarity.
Together, their work spans disciplines and perspectives, grounded in a shared aim to reduce conflict, support wellbeing and improve outcomes for children and families.

The experience
In December 2026, this work continues in an immersive two-day gathering at the Montcalm Mayfair.
This prestigious venue offers not only a high-quality conference environment but also the opportunity for delegates to stay on site and remain fully part of the experience throughout both days. A 20% delegate discount on accommodation is available across the conference week, allowing guests to stay for one or multiple nights.
The hotel also offers spa and wellness facilities, providing space to pause, recharge and reflect between sessions or alongside the event.
This is an environment where the experience extends beyond the sessions themselves, where ideas are explored in depth and where the time between sessions becomes just as valuable as the sessions themselves.
